Automation QA Engineer

About the Role: We’re building a modern ticketing system and are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Automation QA Engineer to help ensure it’s reliable, stable, and ready for real-world use. You’ll be responsible for building and maintaining test automation, validating new features, and catching issues early as we continue to develop the product.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain automated tests for API, E2E, and regression testing
• Set up and manage test environments using Docker containers and relevant tooling
• Collaborate with developers and QA peers to identify edge cases, write test plans, and reproduce bugs
• Contribute to QA strategy, ensuring test coverage aligns with the software architecture and business goals

Requirements:

• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js environment), with a strong grasp of asynchronous programming and Promises
• Experience writing SQL queries for data setup, validation, and debugging in relational databases
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, HTTP protocols, and experience with API testing tools
• Demonstrated ability to write clean, maintainable, and scalable test automation code
• Hands-on experience with Docker
• Familiarity with Git and standard version control workflows
• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking for diagnosing issues and verifying functionality
• Good communication and collaboration skills; experience working in agile teams

Bonus Skills:

• Experience with Playwright for automation testing
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL
• Performance Testing
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools
• Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools
