Breakdown Coordinator (Maintenance Coordinator)

About the Role
We’re looking for a dependable and resourceful Breakdown Coordinator to join our maintenance team. In this role, you’ll serve as the first point of contact when drivers experience mechanical issues on the road. Your quick thinking and problem-solving skills will help minimize downtime, control repair costs, and keep freight moving safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to calls, emails, and alerts regarding truck or trailer breakdowns.
• Coordinate repairs, towing, and roadside assistance with approved vendors.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with drivers, dispatchers, and shops to ensure smooth resolutions.
• Track and log each incident in the maintenance system with accurate notes and repair details.
• Monitor progress on open cases and follow up until equipment is back in service.
• Support compliance with company safety and maintenance policies.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in trucking, fleet maintenance, or breakdown coordination preferred.
• Strong mechanical understanding of tractors, trailers, and basic repair processes.
• Excellent communication and multitasking skills.
• Comfortable making quick decisions under pressure.
• Able to work independently during overnight or weekend shifts.
• Computer-savvy with maintenance or dispatch software experience (preferred).

Work Schedule & Compensation

• Shift: Day shift (typically 15:00 PM – 23:59 AM or similar)
• Days: Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
• Compensation: Competive salaries
