Satellite IT Support Technician / Developer - Internal Tools & Logistics Systems Integration

In this hybrid role, I provided both deep technical support and hands-on development for internal tools across satellite and logistics environments. I was responsible for maintaining critical IT systems, solving hardware/software issues, and ensuring smooth daily operations — whether it was a downed network segment, a confused end user, or a dispatcher workflow bottleneck.

On the satellite side, I managed infrastructure that supported real-time communication between ground stations and satellites. I handled routine maintenance, OS and security updates, and helped troubleshoot everything from failed drives to network latency.
I also maintained logs, documented issues, and coordinated with engineering and support teams to prevent future disruptions.

Meanwhile, on the system admin side, I created user accounts, set up workstations, configured network printers, and physically repaired laptops and desktops-swapping RAM, drives, fans, and even motherboards when needed. I deployed and supported tools like Microsoft Teams, 3CX, and managed role-based access across departments. I maintained clean asset tracking and ensured users had secure, fast, and reliable systems to do their jobs.

Where I really made an impact was in the logistics space. I built custom automation tools — most notably RateConTool, a utility I created to extract and auto-fill load data from PDFs directly into McLeod TMS, saving hours of dispatcher time each week. I also worked heavily with DataTruck, especially during their rollout at our company.

I didn't just use DataTruck - I worked directly with the DataTruck team, one-on-one, to improve the system. I gathered internal feedback, submitted feature requests, tested early changes, and helped shape platform improvements that became standard for our dispatchers. I also helped troubleshoot and escalate bugs, working closely with their support to get them resolved quickly.

Alongside this, I supported teams using McLeod, DataTruck, Samsara, 3CX, and Teams, providing technical guidance, fixing day-to-day issues, training users, and helping integrate these tools smoothly. Whether it was a dispatcher struggling with load status syncing or a misconfigured ELD device, I was the go-to tech for finding fast, effective solutions.

My strength is in combining hands-on IT support with tool-building and a deep understanding of operations so when I build or fix something, it's not just technically correct it actually works for the people using it.
