We are a growing transportation company committed to safe, reliable service. We’re looking for an experienced Compliance specialist safety to manage recruitment for drivers and office staff and handle general HR functions during the evening shift.
Position Summary
Compliance specialist safety is responsible for sourcing, screening, hiring and on boarding drivers and office employees, and for carrying out day-to-day HR operations. This role works closely with operations and management to ensure staffing needs are met, compliance with transportation and employment regulations is maintained, and employees receive timely HR support. Fluent English is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end recruitment for drivers (CDL and other license classes where applicable) and office personnel: job postings, screening, interviewing, reference and background checks.
- Manage onboarding and orientation for new hires, including paperwork, benefits enrollment, safety training coordination, and issuance of company policies.
- Ensure compliance with DOT/transportation-specific regulations, licensing requirements, and company policies.
- Coordinate pre-employment drug/alcohol testing, motor vehicle record (MVR) checks, and other screenings as required.
- Assist with performance management, disciplinary processes, and terminations.
- Work closely with operations supervisors to forecast staffing needs and schedule driver hiring drives or job fairs as required.
- Organize safety training and monitor safety metrics.

- Manage insurance claims, including documentation and follow-ups.
- Investigate accidents, provide reports, and liaise with insurance and legal teams.
- Ensure company compliance with federal and state safety regulations.
- Promote a culture of safety through collaboration with drivers, management, and HR.
Qualifications
- Proven HR/recruitment experience (2+ years preferred), ideally with experience hiring drivers or in transportation/logistics.
- Strong understanding of DOT/transportation hiring requirements and experience managing MVRs, drug testing, and license verification preferred.
- Fluent English (verbal and written) — required.
- Excellent interviewing, communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently during evening shift hours and coordinate with daytime teams.
- High degree of confidentiality and professionalism.
