Senior PHP Engineer

Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior PHP Developer to join our backend team and help evolve and scale our fintech platforms. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with Laravel, object-oriented programming, design patterns, and modern PHP architecture styles, including monolith, modular monolith, SOA, and microservices. You’ll play a critical role in designing robust systems and ensuring maintainable, high-performance backend code.

Key Responsibilities

• Application Development: Develop and refactor complex backend systems using Laravel and modern PHP practices.
• API Design: Design and maintain clean RESTful APIs and integrate with internal and third-party services.
• Code Quality & Standards: Enforce SOLID principles, clean code practices, and design patterns across the codebase.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with frontend developers, QA engineers, DevOps, and managers to deliver well-integrated, high-impact features.
• Security & Performance: Ensure backend systems are secure, performant, and compliant with industry standards.
• System Architecture: Design scalable and maintainable backend architectures (monolith, modular monolith, SOA, microservices) in alignment with product and business goals.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in backend development with PHP, including Laravel (must-have).
• Strong knowledge of OOP, SOLID principles, and software design patterns.
• Proven experience working with monolithic, modular monolith, SOA, or microservices architectures.
• Proficiency in SQL, query optimization, and understanding of database design.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, API versioning, and secure integration practices.
• Understanding of Docker and containerized environments.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of backend systems and services.
• Exposure to unit testing, feature testing, and Test-Driven Development (TDD)..
• Experience with message brokers (e.g., RabbitMQ, Redis Pub/Sub) is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins) is a plus.
• Experience in fintech or payment systems is a significant advantage.
• Familiarity with DDD is a plus.
