Head of Controlling

Overview
We are looking for Head of Controlling to join the Vetropack Moldova (Chisinau) finance team and who will take ownership of management accounting, cost control, and support data-driven decision-making. This role has a strong impact on financial transparency and overall business profitability.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage end-to-end financial controlling processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Lead and develop a team of 2-4 finance professionals, ensuring high performance and continuous improvement.
• Calculate and analyze product cost across a complex, multi-SKU manufacturing environment.
• Partner closely with production and supply chain teams to optimize cost structures and identify efficiency opportunities.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data within SAP, including cost allocations and inventory valuation.
• Prepare monthly management reports with clear insights into financial performance and key drivers.
• Monitor and control production costs, including raw materials, labor, and overheads.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
• Professional certifications (ACCA, CIMA, CPA) will be considered a strong advantage
• Advanced level of English
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller/ Head of finance controlling in a manufacturing company
• Strong expertise in cost accounting within complex production environments (high SKU volume is a must)
• Advanced user of SAP
• Expert-level Excel skills
• Experience managing or mentoring a small team
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ownership
• Strong communication skills and ability to partner with non-finance stakeholders
• Strong analytical thinking with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
