Finance Analyst

We are expanding our Finance team and looking for a proactive individual to join us as a Finance Analyst. The role is hands-on and covers financial analysis, reporting, reconciliations and support of regulatory finance activities, working closely with the Finance Manager.

Job responsibilities:

Accounting & Financial Reporting (Moldova)

  • Maintain and support MD financial and tax accounting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate recording of all economic and financial operations in the accounting system.
  • Prepare and submit tax, regulatory, and statistical reports in accordance with MD legislation and reporting deadlines.
  • Support month-end and quarter-end close activities, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Produce internal management reports and financial analysis to support management decision-making.

Transaction & Payments Operations

  • Support the timely and accurate processing of customer transactions, ensuring compliance with internal procedures, contractual terms, and applicable regulatory and scheme requirements.
  • Monitor real-time payment and transaction flows, identifying trends, anomalies, or potential issues and escalating them in accordance with internal procedures.
  • Manage and resolve transaction exceptions, including unallocated, suspended, failed, and pending payments, within defined timelines.
  • Investigate and resolve payment-related queries raised by Customer Support, Compliance, or other internal teams.
  • Assist in resolving complex or ad-hoc payment issues in close cooperation with internal stakeholders.
  • Liaise directly with banks, payment providers, and transaction partners to resolve payment and settlement queries.
  • Identify daily treasury funding requirements and support the timely execution of treasury movements and settlements.
  • Prepare daily bank, customer, and settlement reconciliations in line with the reconciliation policy and internal deadlines.

Controls, Compliance & Process Improvement

  • Identify and escalate potential internal policy breaches or regulatory issues in a timely manner.
  • Follow all internal finance and payments procedures, ensuring they are applied consistently and accurately.
  • Support the maintenance of up-to-date, well-documented finance and payments processes.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation and assist in the implementation of enhancements and special projects.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors by providing required documentation and explanations.

Our ideal candidate should have:

  • University degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or another relevant field 
  • English level B2 (both written and spoken);
  • Previous 1-2 years of experience in Banking/ Financial services/ Accounting/ Finance or similar sectors;
  • In-depth knowledge of National Accounting Standards (MD), tax legislation, and labor law at an advanced level;
  • Good knowledge of working with the 1C database;
  • Excellent Excel skills;
  • Proven ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and effectively managing multiple priorities and tasks;
  • General understanding of basic accounting principles and financial statements;
  • Experience with reconciliations and transactional data;
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to details, accuracy;
  • Motivation to grow personally while actively supporting the company’s growth;
  • A friendly, helpful, and positive manner with an optimistic, open, and flexible approach.
